Hello everyone,
With the start of fresh academic year, we are excited to introduce you to our new APC committee!
It is a great opportunity to get to know the people who will be helping with organising various events for you throughout this year. Additionally, we spoke to our Chair, Amelia Ellis who was happy to give us few details about future events and what to expect from APC in the upcoming year.
Chair: Amelia Ellis
The APC is about inspiring students to look at all the different opportunities available to them after their degree, and the passion of previous APC Chairs has really inspired me to continue trying to motivate students about their careers and really pushed me to get involved in a bigger way this year.
I'm very excited for the APC this year! We've got plans for smaller events happening throughout semester one and two, with bigger plans for a conference in 2021. This year, teaming up and working more closely with UEA Pharmsoc means we can produce even better events for students and really listen to feedback we received from delegates of the last conference, about topics they wanted to hear about and what events they wanted to see.
We're kicking things off with a talk by Angela Kam (Careers and Tomorrow's Pharmaceutical Journal Editor) on Wednesday 16th October, 3pm at Julian Study Centre 1.02! Angela will be discussing how to convert your pharmacy qualifications in order to work as a pharmacist abroad, which promises to be really interesting. We're also in the process of organising pharmacist speakers from sports nutrition and cosmetics to take part in a webinar that everyone will have access to.
Meet the New APC Team
We are all excited for this year of APC events and you should be too! Tickets for the upcoming event on the 16th October are free for the members of the Pharmsoc and £2 for non-members which you will be able to pay on the door.
Keep following our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts (@altpharmcareers) for more info regarding our upcoming events and for photos of our committee members!
